GENERAL CONTEXT

The intern will be part of the Cable and Junctions Department, in the cable engineering team, focusing on the development of transmission line models for Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) simulations. Within the research domain of high and medium voltage transmission grids, simulation tools such as EMTP® and Matlab/Simulink are utilized to simulate critical scenarios like faults and explore potential remedies. Transmission lines are pivotal components in the grid, and precise modelling is imperative. A preliminary version of the WideBand model has been initiated in the cable department. The proposed internship aims to enhance this model to encompass multiconductor/multicable systems. Additionally, the internship entails harmonizing the WideBand model, drafting a user guide for the models, and ensuring the model's functionality.

MISSIONS

* Creating the electrical circuit equivalent of the multiconductor WideBand model.
* Integrating the multiconductor WideBand model into the Simulink environment.
* Conducting a comparative analysis between the implemented model and results from commercial software like EMTP®.
* Compiling comprehensive documentation and potentially developing a tutorial.
* Collaborating and sharing insights about the tool with teammates specializing transient simulations.

Profil recherché

Candidate Profile
Master or engineering school (4th or 5th year) with good skills in a high-level programming with Matlab/Simulink.
· A project with Matlab/Simulink languages would be appreciated.
· Experience on EMT simulation would be appreciated.
Soft skills
· Good level in English
