About the job

Under the mentorship of the Stereo Supervisor, the Junior Stereographer collaborates with the compositing and 3D teams.
The Junior Stereographer is responsible for defining and executing both the technical and creative aspects of the final stereoscopic output for the film.
This role involves close collaboration with the Stereographer Supervisor, Layout Supervisor, Compositing Supervisor, CG Supervisor, Production team, and TD department to ensure the successful completion of the project.

  • Attend stereo and camera polish review sessions with the Director, Stereographer Supervisor, and crew. Provide technical and creative guidance on stereography and take detailed notes during the review sessions.
  • Work in Maya to set up stereoscopic cameras and review Maya stereo playblasts in conjunction with Nuke for stereo composition.
  • Handle Nuke tasks for stereo retakes and mentor compositing artists on stereo techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with the Stereo Supervisor and Compositing Supervisor to prioritize shots, understand the overall brief and goals, and meet deadlines while effectively managing pressure
  • Work with related departments such as Layout, Animation, Editorial, FX, and Lighting to foster a comprehensive understanding of stereoscopic techniques. Highlight the opportunities it offers and address any potential technical challenges that may arise.
  • Must have

  • Experience and a strong understanding of 3D software packages used in digital film production, especially Maya.
  • Experience with Nuke or other equivalent nodal compositing software is essential
  • Proficiency in Python for Maya and Nuke is a plus
  • Attention to detail, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills, is essential.
  • Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the cinematographic process and layout, particularly in relation to digital feature films and stereography, is a plus.
  • Prior experience with large-scale digital feature film production pipelines is an advantage
  • Proficiency with tracking software, particularly Shotgrid, is advantageous
  • About you

  • French and English fluency is required.
  • Good communication skills and ability to take notes and directions.
  • Ability to work within a team, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • This position is available on site only (no remote work)
  • We favor European Union citizens or candidates with French work permit. Foreign candidates can be considered on a freelance basis.
